 Rinella and Rinella, Ltd. is the oldest matrimonial
law firm in Illinois. Founded by Samuel A. Rinella and his wife, Kathryn Barasa Rinella.
Sam and Kathryn Rinella were pioneers in the then fledgling field of family law. From his
first divorce case in 1932 until his death fifty years later, Sam Rinella represented a
Who’s Who list of clients. He co-founded the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers,
an organization dedicated to elevating the standards of family law practice, and served as
its second president. Kathryn Rinella served as President of the Women’s Bar
Association of Illinois.
Through their leadership in these organizations and in local and
national bar associations, both were instrumental in developing matrimonial law into the
sophisticated practice that it is today. |
